We're proud to have supported Biosar Australia and Elliott Green Power in the successful completion of the Susan River Solar Farm which was launched last week.
This is a $175 million, 95MW project that uses 290,000 panels (about 176 football fields) to generate electricity which can power up to 40,000 homes at full generation. The solar farm connects to the Ergon network via the 66/33kV Substation onsite that Yurika built in less than 9 months (see image).
Getting this solar farm up and running was a real community effort with local quarries, concrete suppliers, fuel suppliers and local labour significantly contributing to the successful completion of this project. The local land owner also explained how they have switched from running cattle to sheep on the farm to eat the grass to lessen the dust impacts on the panels! A great example of how true collaboration can deliver a huge all round successful outcome.
