Carly Irving is the Executive General Manager of Yurika, Energy Queensland’s unregulated business.
Carly is responsible for the commercialisation, diversification, and growth of Yurika which encompasses Metering, Energy Supplies, Telecommunications, Digital Services and Energy Infrastructure design construct, operate and maintain. Driving innovation and powering possibilities in the renewables and sustainability market, Carly leads her team in resolving customers energy and business challenges, striving to change the way people live and do business, and propelling her people and customers through the energy transition into the future of an electric life.
Carly’s 25 plus year career has been varied and extensive from General management, Chief Customer Officer, Human Resource Management, Operations, Marketing and Education, specialising in industrial relations, acquisitions, mergers, trouble shooting for large business, start-ups and growth organisations. Her focus on customer relationships, leadership and commerciality has led her to her current EGM role.
With her global perspective, strategic operational and decisive situational leadership skills, Carly has become a highly accomplished, results driven, visionary executive with proven success in all areas of her career. Whilst Carly thrives on working with her team to create sustainable business results, she is also known to be a hands-on leader with an open-door policy, always ensuring the safety and of her people. Carly knows success is a journey of self-development, growth and reflection, and she strives to be better than the day before, empowering herself and encouraging and supporting those around her to also be the best versions of themselves, face challenges head on and to live an extraordinary life.
Carly firmly believes and has witnessed firsthand how women leaders improve business outcomes; hence she is a fierce advocate for gender balance, and in particular women in leadership positions in underrepresented roles in what are traditionally male-dominated industries. Her passion in supporting women in leadership roles has led to numerous national speaking credits, appointment to the board of AFL (Sherwood Magpies) and recognition in Telstra’s Business Women’s Awards.
