Yurika delivers Ampol’s EV charging network across multiple states.

The roll out of a national network over time will leverage Ampol’s experience with previous trials and its significant geographical footprint.

Our customer

Ampol is an independent Australian company and the nation’s leading transport energy provider. Their objective

Ampol’s primary objective was to address range anxiety among EV users and promote EV adoption. They sought to integrate EV charging stations into their existing retail sites to cater to the changing service demands of their customers. Additionally, Ampol sought metering services to support their Future Energy and Decarbonisation Strategy, which included expanding their energy retail offerings nationally.

The solution

A staged rollout across the nominated Ampol sites included:

  • site investigations
  • detailed site design
  • procurement of equipment
  • construction and commissioning of EV charging stations
  • smart meter installation

Site design and implementation varied seeing EV chargers installed alongside the integration of solar panels and battery energy storage systems (at selected locations). Several locations in NSW required Yurika to upgrade the local connection to grid. This included conducting work outside the property boundary of the Distribution Network Service Provider (DNSP).

During the commissioning phase, Yurika’s metering team installed, tested, and commissioned energy meters, ensuring seamless integration with Ampol’s billing systems.

In 2022, we launched our first AmpCharge site in Queensland at Carseldine, and this partnership with Yurika continues momentum on our ongoing rollout
