Our customer
Based in Cairns, Queensland, Woodburn Electrical specialise in electricity distribution construction and maintenance, particularly in remote locations from the Torres Strait to inland country Queensland.
Their objective
In 2024 Woodburn Electrical were commissioned to build a private electricity network at a bauxite mine in Weipa, and they turned to Yurika to source and supply some of the key materials.
This network and related infrastructure support mining activities, processing facilities, and rail and ferry terminals, contributing to job creation and supporting business growth in the Western Cape and Far North Queensland region.
The solution
Yurika supplied 15,000 metres of 22kV 1C x 500mm2 cable used in the construction of the main feeder cable. 5km of direct buried 22kV cable was installed between a new 12MW solar and the mine powerhouse.
