Overhead powerlines are the backbone of the Australian electricity network, transmitting and distributing power from generation stations to homes and businesses, quite literally keeping the lights on and fuelling our daily lives.

One person who spends his days working all over the country on overhead powerline projects is Travis Jacklin, Yurika’s Manager Field Services Lines. With a team of 70 transmission and distribution linespersons, machine operators, trades assistants, works coordinators and support staff, Travis and his team provide any and every service needed to engineer, procure, build, and maintain overhead powerlines.

“We have a great variety of work that takes us all over Australia.

“One week we can be out on a wind farm helicopter stringing transmission lines that will connect a huge 400MW renewable energy load into the network, and the next week in rural outback Queensland, we’re building a local network that will power up a mining complex’s local operations.

“We work with a broad range of clients and the work itself is interesting and varied; it’s a great job,” said Travis.

Electrical infrastructure services are at our core. We deliver transmission builds, network connections and network augmentations.

From pre-contract work, including planning, modelling, and design, right through to construction of medium (MV), high (HV) and extremely high voltage (EHV) transmission and distribution networks; we deliver expert supervision, and a smooth commissioning process.
