Pacific Energy Group Pty is a market leader in the provision of sustainable distributed energy. Operating for over 40 years, and with owned assets at 47 national sites, Pacific Energy currently has 748MW under contract, making them a market leader by scale in the provision of remote, off-grid energy in Australia.

Objective

To source a reputable and reliable supplier who could supply a broad majority of materials for their energy infrastructure project in Papua New Guinea. This supplier was required to bring all materials to one location where they could then be packaged ready to meet compliance requirements for export and ocean freight.

Solution

Yurika were able to efficiently source and propose the best suited products for the project based on extensive experience and technical knowledge. Job requirements were then effectively coordinated through a comprehensive network of key suppliers and internal stakeholders to order and deliver products by the stipulated critical timelines. Multiple small shipments were centrally coordinated to form one large shipment, significantly reducing transportation costs. This shipment was palletised and labelled to adhere to international freight restrictions for the Papua New Guinea customs department.

The Yurika team has supplied high voltage materials for all our projects in the South Pacific for the past five years – this ranges from power poles, to cross arms, as well as transformers and many other high voltage items.

Geoff Williams

Outcomes

44,430kg of products were picked, packed and coordinated, bound for the Lihir Gold Mine in Papua New Guinea. The consignment was successfully delivered on time, without damage or delay. The additional logistical support resulted in significantly reduced processing times and cost.
