We successfully increased our client’s data speed from between 2 and 10 Mbps to 1 to 10 Gbps.

Challenges

Our client was a large regional council in Queensland, looking to revamp its data and internet service to support and connect its community centres, workspaces and libraries. Its existing technology limited data speed to between 2 and 10 megabits per second – barely enough to provide free Wi-Fi to visitors and reliable internet access for staff.

Solutions

Our Yurika telecommunications team reviewed and assessed our client’s unique needs and designed a cost-effective solution that used existing infrastructure as well as new fibre optic cable. We installed two kilometres of fibre optic cable to connect four sites to the Yurika fibre network. Our solution delivered 1Gbps links into each of the sites with the ability to scale up to 10Gbps.

Outcomes

In our client’s own words, the upgrade was like driving in a Ferrari compared to a Fiat. They’re extremely happy with the outcome, as are their staff and community members who can now access fast and reliable internet.
